Inspired by a project in Zimbabwe, The Yellow Bench, symbolizes community, listening, and friendship. The c shaped bench is designed to encourage conversation, get things off your chest, and connect with others. At the Eagle River Youth Coalition, our goal is to bring community together, learn about best practices and resources, and speak up when you are facing challenges. Through a theme of wellness and therapeutic communities, we hope the bench inspires our community to listen and share with each other when they need support. The bench is made of plywood, live edge beetle kill, metal legs, and was built by Mike Schranz and SF Carpentry. The artwork was designed and decorated by youth and staff at the Eagle River Youth Coalition.
